Every girl should have the opportunity to get a feel for each and every house she rushes and decide for herself which she would fit in the best at. We strive for a values-based sorority and fraternity experience. Maybe because of the money they bring with them, their houses tend to be one of the nicest on campus. Many cheerleaders and pom girls go Zeta. Theyve got great mixers. Some of those houses still hold clout, but others are slipping. Dumb. Some are more popular in the northeast and others in the southern states; some sororities focus more on philanthropy or academics and others on social activities. Every one of their pledge classes is worse than the last. One of the "top" sororities in this write-up just had to shut down their chapter, and one of the "mid-tier" sororities has so many top women that it's almost embarrassing to the other sororities on campus. Most, if not all, sororities have sophomore quotas meaning that they have to accept a certain number of girls who rush their sophomore year. They have heavier girls in their sorority and would completely humiliate their pledges by making them strip down in front of their brother frat to circle 'prob' areas in a sharpie. Chi-Os and Kappa Alpha Thetas are top tier sororities at our school. Chi O: About 50/50 party girls and non-party girls. You have nothing to loose, and you'll never know if you could absolutely love it until you try it!! That is probably why you think they are the worst. Possibly because of this, other Greek organizations have highly polarized opinions about Zetas. Quite frankly, very, very few PNMs will have much choice of where they are invited back to, or where they get a bid. Tri-Delt: This years pledge class put DDD from Top Tier to Lower Top Tier. Sorry, I was pretty brutal with Gamma Phi Beta. So my assumption is that you are going into rush without knowing (m)any girls in the chapters. What I have learned is that we all have our pre-conceived notions about what sororities are and most of it is crap. Pi Beta Phi, and Kappa Kappa Gamma are generally considered top tier across the country, with some exceptions. AXID is last. Alpha Phi girls are considered laid-back and probably the least likely among major sororities to worry about their reputation. To stereotype any organization and the members a part of these organizations is belittling of what these organization were founded on. Yeah, KKG takes the cake. ADPi: Not a fan favorite during rush. To be honest, any house at UT would be a great sorority experience with attractive, smart girls. Where do you even see that? Then it's between Tri-Delt, Theta, and DG. It's so weird to see girls get so upset over getting dropped by the good sororities and having to go to the lowest tier parties. That Certain Look. They don't tend to be as social as other sororities and can sometimes seem invisible compared to more visible sororities. Im not a part of Greek life, but I have many friends who are. I. I would venture to say your fraternity life was short and you are disparately trying to relive your college life. or have a bad reputation from high school. Our main mission is to enhance women's college experiences through social events, sisterhood, meaningful friendships, community service, academic achievement, and the development of real-world skills. Friendships in sorority last a lifetime. The Big 6 is a phrase coined by Texas Monthly back when gas was 25 cents a gallon. Out of the blue last week my son told us that he was accepted off the waitlist and that TCU was now his first choice. Kappa.doesnt have the rich rep, or cute, they kinda hate each other. Fraternity members consider DZ girls a lot of fun. It's not just a few. Every house has an objective and will recruit accordingly. NO ONE has the right to try to determine which is "better" than the other. Zeta only cares about looks. My fear is that rather than focusing on things you can control (conversation skills, brushing up your resume, getting recs in order, rush wardrobe, grooming) you are looking for something that quite frankly, you are going to have very little control over at all.

I've heard a lot about PKT, Pi Phi ,Kappa, Theta, because they all go after rich girls. But no, they are not improving. Bottom Tier: KD, ADPi Theta: Similar to Pi Phi as girls usually have been told they will be a theta before rush week begins. Upper Middle Tier: Alpha Phi What should matter is that you choose the sorority that you best fit into and makes YOU happy. Pi Beta Phi is known as Pi Bitchy Phi and is the recognitized,as far and above,'The Top' sorority on my huge Greek-led campus. Chi O I actually think Livelonger did a good job of presenting each sorority with both positive and negative points. The only girls on our campus who were involved in sororities were out of state kids that needed this sense of inclusion to fit in. Chi-O: A lot of girls seemed to prefer Chi-O to Pi Phi and Kappa. Most likely the girl that says she will only go XYZ or AB will be cut by those two houses and she will either eat crow or drop out. Nice girls though. At my school the top three sororities are Delta Zeta, Tri Sigma, and Alpha Sigma Alpha. She did not have anyone in any houses pulling for her as our high school is very lowly represented at UT. You also hear Kappa Kappa Gammas described as popular and sometimes (but not always) smart and classy. If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. Good Standing is reported at beginning of each semester and reflects outcome of the prior semester program. KD was a well desired house this year by a lot of PNMs and for good reason. No one here should discuss sorority reputations, and certainly not name names, because frankly with over 200 girls in each house you really cant pigeonhole them that way. I attend one of the top universities in the country, and arguably the most competitive sorority school in the country.
